True Meaning of Stairway to Heaven

A Day of Revelation
After listening to a very wise preacher's sermon today, it seemed like I became uplifted inside and re-awakened to life's meaning. I have continued to have complete faith in God, even more so after hitting a recent "rock bottom" in my life. I will not let go of this deep faith inside, and I am convinced that it is through this that I will be able to have a new beginning. I have been seeking out happiness for so long inside, and it is now more apparent to me how it is that I am going to achieve this and to live my life in accordance to finding the "true", lovable me that I know exists.
It seems to me that others, including myself, have been misguided in our belief systems. I have for so long, lived my life with such guilt and self hatred. I am now starting to reach my inner happiness, by filling myself with God, and completely letting Jesus into my heart. I feel filled by the holy spirit that surrounds us, and that will work with us if we just let it in. This guilt all stems from what I believe to be a faulty belief system, along with my own bad choices. I will not let fear or guilt overtake me, and I am on a path to self righteousness. The biggest message I received through today's sermon, was that we are all sinners as humans, and have our past convictions. This seems to be the way God helps us get closer to finding our life's purpose. However, I also understood today, that our past convictions do not dictate who we are inside. We are going to be sinners until the day we die. The message that the bible gives us is that if when we fall, we will not stay fallen, if we continue to pull ourselves back up.
Picking yourself up after taking a big fall, like the one I just took, can be very challenging. I am not going to be able to do this alone, but I know that I am not alone with God beside me. It took divine intervention to get me to this point of revelation, and this is where I choose to stay. I accept that I am weak with out God's direction and I know that we all have our paths to choose in our own separate life's....and I have faith that I am being guided down the right path finally. The right path in my mind is one that will bring us closer and closer to our final destination of eternity....what do I want my final destination to look like? Well, that is the beauty of choosing the right path. I would like my final destination to be one of what looks like perfection through my eyes, as to each is own with what you see your perfect destination looking like. It seems as it is only through choosing the right path and having a good heart and soul....that we will ultimatly reach this uniting with God and his kingdom of harmony. What I perceive to be a taste of eternal heaven may be the feeling I get when I'm on a beautiful island or at a tranquil cabin on the lake that fills my heart with contentment, or more just a good feeling of happiness that I get from the simple things in life such as loving someone or feeling loved. I believe that each one of our final destinations will be different based on what God has given us as such a special gift...free will. It's this free will that the bible tells us that God has given us to set us free...and free to come back to him if we choose to do so. I feel it's making good decisions based on our free will....that will steer the way for our eternal path.
I also came to understand today, that for so long I have spoken the words of God that the bible teaches us, as I have been taught, and have felt motivated to do so possibly by God and other people that God works through as instruments of his word. However, my actions have not always held true to the messages that hold deep meaning to me and how I want to live my life, which can be what is so hard about practicing what we believe to be true as God's word. I had been going to church for so many years, starting at infancy. I had attended catholic school for years, but I now realize, that I did not have a good relationship with God and truly feel connected to him until this past year....nor did I put his words into action as I would like to. Each one of us, for those of us that that believe in a God, have our very different and unique spiritual relationships, some stronger and some weaker. What keeps one person connected and of great strength, may not work for another person. It is up to us individually, if we choose to find and keep this connection, to do what works for us to stay in sync with this great faith, and the bible also tells us in doing so that someday have our God will reveal himself to us and the mystery of life will then be known. I am choosing today, to do what I believe will keep me on the right path, by putting in the effort it will take to reach a blissful eternity with God. It can be easy to fall off the right path and fall back into the hands of evil, if we do not make that conscience effort to have the outlook on life as God wants us to. We will all fall many times throughout our life, some bigger falls than others, but when we get back up...and rise above the temptations thrown at us...we bring ourselves closer and closer to God and a self righteous life. That is the life I want to live and the person that I would like to ultimately become inside. I am blessed in so many ways in my life, and it's time I start counting my blessings verses counting my losses. As the bible says in 1 Peter 1:7...."Your faith is of greater worth than gold". I choose to continue to strengthen my faith and hope to become one with God someday in my eternal life...but it seems to me the road that leads there starts here on earth and that in order to get there its going to take hard work and devotion.
